Ramadhan Kareem 1436

Salam Aleykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatu

I hope this message reaches you in the best of health and Eiman.

We would like to congratulate you on the occasion of the arrival of the holy month of Ramadhan. The month which has been dedicated to the nation of prophet Mohammad (saw), in order to strengthen our faith, increase our understanding, improve our social relationships and interactions and to attain Taqwa. Having Taqwa is to be aware of the presence of Allah (swt), it is to always be conscious of our behaviour and watchful of what we say and do. An individual who has Taqwa is one that is self-less, forgiving, kind, generous and has established a close relationship with their Lord. Humanity benefits from His presence in this world as they did at the time of the holy prophet (saw) when he would extend his service, love and mercy to everyone around him. Although Taqwa has many grades and levels, we have to strive as much as we can to beautify ourselves with the characteristics of perfection, purify our hearts and elevate our souls to be amongst the sincere servants of the Most Merciful, Allah (swt).

Once again our volunteers across the country have been hard at work organising events to help you benefit from this Holy month, be it the continuation of the annual Iftar programmes every Wednesday in London, or the Majalis programme in Manchester, which this year is being delivered by the esteemed Hajj Hasanain Rajabali. If you cannot attend the programmes why not tune in via our live stream www.ius.org.uk/live. Check out our website for more information on either of the programmes or look out for an email with more details coming to your inbox soon.

If you happen to be in Manchester on the 30th of June, why not join us for the Iftar programme marking IUS’s 20th Anniversary, more details can be found on: www.ius.org.uk/progress20

The Islamic Unity Society (IUS) would like to wish you a month full of blessing, happiness, infinite bounty and a month of becoming united with the Muslim ummah to propagate the pristine message of Islam and sublime teachings of the Ahlulbayt (as)

O People! the Month of Allah (swt) has approached you with His mercies and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all the months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are best among the days; its nights are best among the nights. Its hours are best among the hours. This is a month in which you have been invited by Him. You have been, in this month, selected as the recipients of the honours from Allah, the Merciful.” [Sermon of the holy Prophet in Sha’ban]
