Ramadan 2017/1438

Salam Aleykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatu

I hope this message reaches you in the best of health and Eiman.

We would like to congratulate you on the occasion of the arrival of the holy month of Ramadhan. The month in which Allah (swt) has invited humanity to His universal banquet, in order to strengthen our faith, increase our understanding, improve our social relationships and interactions and to ultimately attain Taqwa. Taqwa is to be aware of the presence of Allah (swt), it is to always be conscious of our behaviour and watchful of what we utter. An individual who has Taqwa is one that is self-less, forgiving, kind, generous, just and has established a close relationship with their Lord.

In this difficult climate during which innocent lives are being taken, we need to all unite, lend a helping hand to all those who are in need and strive to reduce the suffering which exists in today’s world. The month of Ramadhan is the best platform to enable every single one of us to do this.

The Islamic Unity Society (IUS) would like to wish you a month full of blessing, happiness, infinite bounty and a month of becoming to propagate the pristine message of Islam and sublime teachings of the Ahlulbayt (as).

The team has been working hard in preparing various events and programmes in this month for everyone to benefit from which can be found on our website.

“O People! the Month of Allah (swt) has approached you with His mercies and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all the month in the estimation of Allah. Its days are best among the days; its nights are best among the nights. Its hours are best among the hours. This is a month in which you have been invited by Him. You have been, in this month, selected as the recipients of the honours from Allah, the Merciful.” [Sermon of the holy Prophet in Sha’ban]
