About this Event

  • Do you know how to use the GROW model to help a mentee solve a problem?

Whether it’s in a professional career setting or simply your younger sibling, cousin or nephew/niece, being a mentor is a truly rewarding experience that can help a developing young person achieve their true potential, and lets you give back to the community by sharing your experiences and skills.

Join this unique half-day workshop to learn essential skills on how to be an effective mentor, as well as discover opportunities to be a mentor for talented 16-18 year old students as part of the Allamah Tabatabai Award mentoring scheme.

Facilitators:

Hassan Joudi is the Deputy Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, the UK’s largest and most diverse national Muslim umbrella body. Hassan believes passionately in the role of young Muslims as a driving force for positive change in society in Britain today. He works as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer in the energy sector.

Israa Tayar BSc, MBPsS, SGCP is a personal performance coach (life coach) with The Coaching Academy, and has completed a level 5 diploma qualification (SFEDI accredited). She is a qualified NLP practitioner and a member of ANLP (Association of NLP), BPS (British Psychological society) and the Special Group in Coaching Psychology (SGCP). She has a passion for working to change the lives of young people and adults a with the use of effective coaching tools and also works on a voluntary basis to help the community.
